Hannah Hawkes
I’m a clinical psychologist, board-approved supervisor for the clinical registrar program, and an EMDR consultant with EMDRAA. I have also worked and volunteered in the psychedelic-assisted therapy trial and treatment space. I’ve been in private practice for a number of years, but my journey in mental health began long before that, both personally and professionally. I used to be a nurse and a guardian/advocate. I've had challenges and I know it’s okay to not have it all figured out. My goal is to provide a space where you can be exactly who you are, with a focus on being non-judgmental and moving towards kindness and self compassion.
Whether you’re dealing with deep-rooted pain from the past, trying to make sense of the present, or simply want to better understand yourself, I hope to bring a warm, down-to-earth approach to our work together. I’ve worked in both private and public mental health settings with individuals and groups, giving me a rich breadth of experience in navigating all sorts of situations.
I have plenty of life experience and I have held space for traumas of all kinds. I enjoy working with first responders, veterans and people with long term traumas.
I am trained in many different therapy approaches, but most of all I find it important to connect with the person in front of me and figure out what they need, together with them.
As well as the usual clinical psychology approach I have an interest in complimentary somatic approaches, depth psychology, Jungian psychology and dreamwork.
